Troy Roberts put the Galaxy up in the 15th minute but Jozy Altidore tied up the game in the very next minute and that is how it ended. David Beckham did make his return to the field when he came on as a sub in the 68th minute.
A win would have put the Galaxy in control of their playoff destiny. Now they need some help this weekend. In order for them to have a chance of post-season play one of two things needs to happen. Kansas City Wizards must lose to FC Dallas or Colorado Rapids must lose to or tie Real Salt Lake. If either of those happen then the Galaxy will make it into the playoffs with a victory in Chicago on Sunday. That game will also have Chicago’s playoff hopes on the line as well, so don’t expect a laid back Chicago Fire.
